Aims and Scope
The Korean Journal of Gastroenterology is an official publication of the Korean Society of Gastroenterology to provide broad and in-depth development of gastroenterology in Korea. The journal publishes special articles on clinical and basic studies pertaining to physiology, epidemiology, pathophysiology or treatment of the diseases which are originated from the digestive system such as esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver and pancreato-biliary system. The editorial board calls for the articles that originate from worldwide research or clinical study groups and the publication is determined by the editors and reviewers who are the experts in the specific field of gastroenterology. The categories of manuscripts are editorials, original articles, case reports, review articles, image of the month, research update and brief summary of practice guideline. The journal is published monthly and distributed to members of the Korean Society of Gastroenterology, medical schools, libraries and related institutes to pursue the academic advancement in gastroenterology and to promote an active communication between the members and international societies of gastroenterology. Eventually, the journal aims to contribute to cure of the gastrointestinal diseases and improvement of public health.
Revenue Source
The KjG is mainly funded by the Korean Society of Gastroenterology. The journal is also financed by receiving an article processing charge (reprinting cost) paid by the authors, advertising and academic/corporate sponsors. This journal is supported by the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST) Grant funded by the Korean Government.
